Themes :
Technical papers dealing with all the aspects of non conventional and or renewable energy sources leading to save fossil fuel, industrial development are solicited.
Object of Themes :
Power is one of the most important and critical infrastructure for the economic growth of the country. Per capita consumption is considered as a scale of measurement of development.
At present almost all the states of our country are suffering from power cut on account of wide gap between the demand and supply. The Government of India has decided 100% electrification and to make electricity available up to every house by the year 2012. Government of India also desires to maintain minimum 8-9% growth rate of GDP for the coming years. Therefore about additional power requirement to the extent of 65000 MW will be required by the year 2012 (11th five year plan)
More than 65% power generation in the country is through coal (fossil fuel) and the maximum power proposed to be generated by 2012 is also Thermal Power generation i.e. through fossil fuel which not only adversely affects the environment, so also rapidly reduces the stock of such natural resources (Coal).
Our Country has presently estimated capacity of more than 1 Lakh MW power of Non Conventional (Renewable) energy out of which capacity of only 10% capacity has been utilized. Therefore power generation through renewable source of energy can play an important role in generation of clean energy, in utilizing other untapped sources of energy for diversification so also will be helpful in saving of fossil fuel(coal) for utilization for longer period.
All India Convention proposed to be held on the theme “Energy Security through Renewable Energy Sources” thus aims to discuss about the capacity, prospects in use of various categories of renewable source of energy for power generation and its environmental and socio economic impact, which is most relevant with the present scenario
